The FLSmidth VXP vertical stirred mill allows ores and process products to be ground to particle sizes as low as 15 microns, opening new doors for liberation of finely-disseminated minerals.

The unique design of the VXP Mill allows it to outperform similar technologies in key areas such as:

  • Capital cost
  • Flexible design
  • Installed power per ton processed
  • Operating and maintenance costs
  • Higher throughput and availability
  • Smaller footprint
  • Automation and data collection

Peacocke & Simpson operates a 2-litre VXP mill and Malvern Mastersizer that allows us to investigate the effect of ultrafine grinding on subsequent mineral recovery processes, including reagent consumptions, oxygen demand in leaching, recovery kinetics, and so on. Whilst the VXP2 mill is ideal for R&D, larger samples must be submitted to FLSmidth laboratories for scale-up process testing and mill sizing.
