In the world of gravity gold recovery, few technologies have earned as much global recognition as the Knelson Concentrator. For over four decades, this concentrator has been the industry benchmark, relied upon by mining operations across Africa, Australia, North America, Asia, and South America. Its reputation is not built on marketing hype — it’s grounded in engineering precision, proven reliability, and unmatched real-world performance.

The Engineering Behind Knelson Concentrators

Knelson Concentrators use a patented fluidised cone design that generates extremely high G-forces, allowing for efficient separation of gold particles across a wide size range — from coarse nuggets to ultra-fine gold. This capability makes it indispensable in modern gold recovery circuits, particularly in ores where conventional gravity systems or cyanidation struggle to recover all the available gold.

Key advantages include:

  • Higher overall gravity gold recovery, capturing more value from each tonne of ore

  • Lower gold losses to tailings, ensuring less gold escapes the recovery process

  • Consistent performance across operators, shifts, and variable ore types

  • Reduced downtime thanks to robust, low-maintenance engineering

By combining high recovery efficiency with operational simplicity, Knelson Concentrators have become the trusted solution for mines seeking reliable, repeatable results.

Proven Performance in Real Mine Conditions

One major reason gold producers worldwide choose Knelson is its ability to perform under any mining condition. Whether processing high-throughput operations, complex ore types, or mixed coarse and fine gold systems, Knelson consistently delivers measurable results.

It thrives in:

  • Variable ore mineralogy

  • High-capacity processing plants

  • Harsh underground or plant conditions

  • Operations handling coarse and fine gold mixtures simultaneously

From small-scale mines to large operations processing thousands of tonnes per day, the Knelson Concentrator demonstrates unmatched versatility and durability.

The Laboratory Advantage: Accurate Testwork Matters

At leading laboratories, including , Knelson Concentrators are central to precise, plant-representative testwork. Their reliability ensures that laboratory simulations mirror actual plant conditions, which is critical for designing efficient gold recovery circuits.

Key laboratory applications include:

Using Knelson technology in the lab allows metallurgists to make informed, data-driven decisions, improving plant efficiency and maximizing gold recovery.

Trusted Worldwide for a Reason

The Knelson Concentrator isn’t just another piece of mining equipment — it’s a results-proven recovery partner. The world’s leading gold producers, respected laboratories, and mineral consultants all rely on Knelson to deliver consistent, high-value results.

Whether you are designing a new processing plant, upgrading an existing gravity circuit, or conducting critical metallurgical testwork, Knelson Concentrators provide the performance, reliability, and precision you need.

The knelson concentrator seems to be a blast.
What of the Leach in-line reactor vs that

    • Sean Makonde says:

Absolutely, the Knelson concentrator is a game-changer for gravity recovery, especially for coarse and free-milling gold. Its continuous operation and fully fluidised cone make it ideal for maximising recovery without interrupting high-throughput plants.

The Leach In-Line Reactor (ILR), on the other hand, is focused on efficient cyanide leaching, particularly for fine and ultra-fine gold that may escape gravity circuits. It’s complementary rather than competitive — in many modern plants, you’ll see a Knelson concentrator upstream to capture free gold, followed by an ILR to recover the remaining fine fractions.

So the real magic happens when both are integrated: gravity recovery first, then ILR for maximum overall gold recovery.
