Peacocke & Simpson is very pleased to have recently won the order for a fully-automated Acacia Reactor and Electrowinning Module for Golden Valley Mine near Kadoma. The model CS500 Consep Acacia Reactor will be used to intensively leach gold from concentrates produced by the mine’s two KC-XD20 Knelson Concentrators.

The fully-automated Acacia System will be electronically linked to the Knelsons to automatically control them as well and the intense leach and electrowinning modules, making Golden Valley’s gravity recovery circuit arguably the most advanced in Zimbabwe. The mine’s gravity gold recovery is also amongst the top 3 in Zimbabwe, due in no small part to its staff dedication to and care of its Knelson Concentrators.

This order brings the number of Acacia Reactors in Zimbabwe to 6, and 27 in Africa. Zimbabwe ranks second only to Tanzania with 7 Acacias, although Tanzania’s gold production is about 3 times that of Zimbabwe’s.

Consep has now supplied close on 150 Acacia Reactors to 130 mine sites worldwide, making it the world’s number one choice for intense leach reactors. Amongst these is the world’s largest gravity recovery plant in Laos, which boasts 8 x KC-QS70 and 34 x KC-QS48 Knelson Concentrators, 2 x CS4000 and 6 x CS10000 Acacia leach modules. Intense leach capacity alone exceeds 100 tons per day, from Knelson Concentrators capable of treating over 20 000 tons per hour of ore.
