Peacocke & Simpson prides itself on being a global supplier of mineral testwork and minerals processing solutions. As is the nature of the mining industry, corporations have always had to set up shop where there was ore, as opposed to where customers were or where it was most convenient for labour or economics. As such, mining corporations and suppliers have always had to rely on strong international networks with regard to volume and quality of services rendered or offered.
P&S is proud to have grown from a small consultancy operating out of a single filing cabinet in 1985, to an industry-pioneering laboratory that tests dozens of mineral and material ores for clients on every continent. As an example, below are some of the more interesting mineral testing programs that P&S conducted, and some of the more interesting countries where the samples originated from, in 2015 alone.
As gravity recoverable gold (GRG) and extended gravity recoverable gold (EGRG) is our forte, and given that gold is the world’s most popular precious metal, P&S has naturally tested gold samples from all over the world. Some of the more interesting countries for which gold testing was conducted last year included Tanzania, Mali, Zambia, Namibia, Ethiopia, Liberia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Africa, as well as Brazil and Australia internationally.
Other noteworthy mineral testing and process testing from 2015 includes:
- Lead from Bosnia
- Tungsten from Zimbabwe and Australia
- Tin from Rwanda and South Africa
- Graphite from Tanzania
Added to this is an impressive list of minerals and countries of origin that we have dealt with in the past 30 years, ranging from gold ores from “unknown” gold regions such Greece, Norway and Vietnam to phosphate from Egypt, tantalite from DRC, alumina from Mozambique and even platinum from Finland.
Suffice to say that Peacocke & Simpson has a wealth of minerals testing experience covering the globe. In gaining this experience, we realised that the process of shipping samples from site to laboratory can be rather tedious for mining companies and plants, specifically those in more remote destinations. As such, P&S has expanded its service offering to include door-to-door transportation, arranging sample pick-ups from site and delivering concentrate products back to clients when necessary.
