Knelson Gravity Solutions is pleased to report that the gravity recovery plant at Barrick’s recently commissioned Buzwagi Mine in Tanzania is now operational. This facility has been instrumental in providing Buzwagi with its first gold pour in early May.
Julie Shuttleworth, Buzwagi Process Manager, states “We have been impressed by the quality of service and dedication demonstrated by our gravity equipment vendors. They have been totally committed to getting the gravity equipment commissioned in a timely manner. Successful commissioning of the Knelson Concentrators and ACACIA Reactor has ensured our first gold production is on schedule”.
The Buzwagi gravity recovery plant consists of two Knelson KC-XD48 concentrators and a Consep ACACIA Reactor model CS2000. Large Knelson Concentrators have become very familiar pieces of equipment throughout Tanzania and the rest of Africa. Currently there are 38 Knelson XD48 units in operation in Africa. The continent is also home to nearly 200 smaller Knelson Concentrators and 14 ConSep Acacia Reactors.
